Duncan Daniels' The Time Traveler EP Review
Duncan Daniels' is back with another fabulous project.
Singer Duncan Daniels has proven he is a talented singer and an ambassador of his old stomping grounds - Port-Harcourt City. While Daniels has a knack for embracing non-native genres since his early days, he easily stacks his worldly experiments on the ambience of the Garden City.
His new EP, 'The Time Traveler,' is a colourful garden filled with the rich musical scent of the tropical metropolis. "Garden City was a citadel," reminisces Daniels on 'Purpleville' as he affirms his OG status in the game.
The short EP (13 minutes) is breezy and cool. It is a mood-elevating project cultivated from Daniels' trademark strain.
The length of this body of work is perhaps its only sin, as the EP could be extended to a full LP to be best listened to while driving around any city at night, trying to clear your head.
Your best bet is to put 'The Time Traveler' on a loop on your journey. I bet you will play 'Blood Pressure' featuring Mukhy & Chai T, a song that effortlessly blends Afrobeats and lo-fi.
I could call it the best track on the EP, but with each track possessing its strong scent, you will bask in the fragrance of the entire EP than nitpick.
